You're asking for referrals wrong

The One-Minute Marketing Mistake That Kills Referrals

Hey,

Standard referral ask:

"Do you know anyone else who might need our services?"

Standard response:

"Not off the top of my head, but I'll keep you in mind."

Translation: Never happening.

The Mistake:

Making them do all the thinking.

Why It Doesn't Work:

Too vague and overwhelming Requires them to remember later No specific action to take

The Fix:

Be specific:

"Do you know any other restaurant owners dealing with slow seasons like you were?"

Much easier to think of someone specific.

Takes one minute to make your ask more targeted.

Actually gets referrals instead of polite promises.
