Saw this follow-up sequence yesterday:

Email 1: "Just following up on our conversation" Email 2: "Wanted to circle back on this"
Email 3: "Bumping this back to the top" Email 4: "One more try..."

Ouch.

The Mistake:

Treating silence like interest.

Why It Makes You Sound Desperate:

Multiple follow-ups to non-responses "One more try" screams needy You're doing all the chasing

The Fix:

Two touches max, then move on:

"If I don't hear back, I'll assume this isn't a priority right now."

Then actually stop.

Takes one minute to write a proper close.

Preserves your dignity and their respect.
